Tracing your WW1 Ancestors…….. Wednesday Oct 8th. Our afternoon talk was given by Fiona McIntyre from LCC’s Community Heritage team who last year talked to us about Pendle Murders
This time her talk was about tracing our WW1 Ancestors. We were told of the many sources of information available to anyone tracing members of their family who were involved in WW1
We were told of the many ways that Lancashire County Councils web sites could be used, how if we used the Library’s Computers we could access sites like Ancestry and Find my past for free.
Fiona’s talk covered many other paths to explore for example The Commonwealth Graves Commission, Old maps, Newspapers of the time, Regimental Museums and many more.
Anne Eves gave a vote of thanks to Fiona for her very informative talk
