One possibility could be the spelling, Bridal refers to a Bride getting married and Bridle refers to Horses as in a Bridle path.

My husband and I went to the Pendle Artists exhibition last week,we were blown away by the standard of the artwork. We have been looking for a picture for a few months, but couldn’t find anything we both liked. As soon as we saw The Bridal Path by Peter Johnson we knew that our search was over. We are so impressed by the painting we went to Austwick to see if we could find the path . We feel confident that we did, took photos and compared them to the picture, one in particular seems to be a match. I would be interested to know why it’s called The Bridal Path.
