[shortmenu menu=”Archaeology Events” enhance=”true” ] We are amateur archaeologists with a varied programme of activities including field walking, building surveys and excavations.  We have several ongoing projects in and around Pendle Hill and Blackburnshire where we look at the area’s varied archaeology, such as its pre-history, the medieval forests and seventeenth century farm houses and barns.

  1. Hi Steven, I’ve passed on your request to the archaeologists. Come back to me if you don’t get a reply (this only occasionally happens). Best wishes, David

  3. Hello

I belong to Tameside Archaeological Society Ltd and i am the Vice Chair for the Society. We are currently doing excavations within the Mottram and Longdendale Valley area. Some of the work we are doing is a building survey of a field barn belonging to the owner of the farm. We are trying to find as much history in relation to the barn as possible, is it possible that you could give any information on these types of barns. We think it has a threshing floor, internally. Many thanks. S. Milne TAS Ltd

  4. Hello

I’m an ex professional archeologist not working in the field anymore but missing excavation! Hoping to join the club and get involved. Please could you put me on your mailing list? Also I’d be keen to hear how I can get involved in your excavations.

    Many thanks

    Fiona
